What is Z Pass?
Z Pass is a password manager and digital vault. It keeps your passwords, payment cards, secure notes and authenticator (2FA) codes together in one encrypted place, so you can use a different strong password for every account without having to remember them all.
Z Pass works on Windows, on the web and on Android. Your vault stays in sync between your devices: archive or move an account into a folder on one device and the others pick up the change.
Last updated: October 2026.
What Z Pass does
- Encrypted vault – logins, cards and secure notes are encrypted before they are stored in the cloud. You open them with your recovery key.
- Authenticator – generate time-based 2FA codes next to the account they belong to.
- Password generator and checker – create strong random passwords or memorable phrases, and check the strength of a password. The checker runs in your browser and your input is never sent to a server.
- Vault Health / Pass Monitor – finds weak and reused passwords so you can fix them.
- Email aliases – use an alias instead of your real address to limit exposure when a service is breached.
- Folders, archive and trash – organize accounts into folders, archive what you rarely use and restore deleted items.
- Cross-device sync – Windows, web and Android stay up to date.

A plan is activated on your account after payment is confirmed. If you paid and your plan is not active, contact us with your Z Pass ID or account email and we will check it. Never send your password, recovery key or card number.
How your data is protected
- Vault contents are encrypted before they are stored in the cloud.
- You unlock your vault with your account credentials and your recovery key.
- Keep your recovery key safe. If you lose it and forget your password, we may not be able to restore your encrypted data.
- Use two-step verification (2FA) on your Z Pass account and on your important accounts such as email and banking.
- Z Pass will never ask for your password, recovery key or 2FA code by message, email or phone call. Anyone who does is a scammer.
- No system is perfectly secure. You are also responsible for keeping your devices updated and free of malware.
What is the dark web?
The internet has three broad layers:
The open websites we use every day, found by search engines.
Content behind a sign-in: email, online banking, private accounts and company intranets. Most of the internet is deep web and it is completely normal.
A small part of the internet reached with special software such as Tor, where identities and locations can be hidden.
Is the dark web legal?
In most countries, using privacy software or visiting the dark web is not illegal by itself, and it has legitimate uses such as protecting journalists, activists and people under censorship. However, buying or selling stolen data, drugs, weapons or other illegal goods and services is illegal everywhere it is regulated. Laws differ by country, so always follow your local law. Z Pass does not ask you to visit the dark web and you should not need to.
How can your information end up there?
When a company's database is breached, details such as email addresses, usernames, password hashes and phone numbers can be stolen. Attackers may share or sell this data. Seeing your information there does not mean your phone or computer was directly hacked – most incidents come from a breach at a third-party service.
If you get a breach alert
- Change the password for the affected service immediately.
- Create a unique password for any other account that used the same password.
- Sign out of all active sessions and remove unknown devices.
- Turn on 2FA and store recovery codes securely.
- Check your email, bank and phone accounts for unusual activity.
How does Z Pass help?
- Vault Health finds weak and reused passwords.
- The generator creates a unique strong password for every account.
- The authenticator adds a second layer of verification.
- Aliases limit exposure of your real email address.
✓ Dark web monitoring, when it is enabled, will only run with your explicit consent. Until then this page is educational and for security guidance.
Privacy
This is a plain-language summary of how Z Pass handles information.
What we collect
- Account data – your email address, sign-in method and the Z Pass ID created for your account.
- Vault data – the items you save. It is stored encrypted; we do not use it for advertising.
- Subscription and payment status – your plan, its expiry date and the confirmation from the payment provider. Card details are handled by the payment provider, not stored in your vault by us.
- Support messages – what you send us when you ask for help.
- Technical data – basic information needed to keep the service secure and working, such as device and app version.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not load advertising or analytics trackers on the website.
- We do not ask you to share your master password or recovery key.
Notifications
If you use the Android app, we may send notifications about your account, for example when your plan is upgraded. You can turn them off in your device settings.
Cookies and local storage
Z Pass uses essential storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences such as language. You can choose "Essential only" in the cookie banner or change your choice later with "Cookie preferences" on the home page.
Third-party services
Z Pass relies on infrastructure and payment providers, for example Firebase for sign-in and data storage and a payment processor for subscriptions. They process data to provide their service under their own terms and privacy policies.
Your choices
You can ask to access, correct or delete your account and data, and you can export or remove vault items yourself at any time. Contact us using the details below. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local data-protection law.
Children
Z Pass is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). A parent or guardian should manage any account used by a child, for example through a Family plan.
Terms of use
- Your account. You are responsible for your account, your recovery key and for activity under your account. Keep your credentials private.
- Acceptable use. Do not use Z Pass for anything illegal, to attack or defraud others, to attempt to break or overload the service, or to access data that is not yours.
- Your content. Your vault belongs to you. You give us only the permission needed to store, sync and protect it so the service works.
- Subscriptions. Paid plans give access to the features listed for that plan for the period you paid for. Prices, taxes and available payment methods are shown at checkout. Cancellation and refund terms are shown at checkout or provided by the payment method used; for cryptocurrency payments, transactions are generally final. Contact support if something went wrong.
- Family plans. The paying admin is responsible for the plan and for the members they add. Members keep individual private vaults.
- Changes and availability. We may improve, change or discontinue features and will try to give notice of important changes. The service may occasionally be unavailable.
- Suspension. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the law.
Legal notes
- No warranty. Z Pass is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep it secure and reliable but cannot guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors.
- Limitation of liability. To the extent allowed by law, Z Pass and its developer are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for data you lose because you lost your recovery key, or for losses caused by malware, phishing or other compromise of your own devices.
- Not professional advice. Security tips and the dark web guide are general information, not legal, financial or professional security advice.
- Legal requests. We may disclose information when the law requires it. Because vault contents are encrypted, we cannot read them.
- Trademarks. Other product and company names, such as Windows, Android, Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, belong to their owners and are used only to describe compatibility.
- Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws that apply where the Z Pass operator is established, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
- Updates. We may update this page. Important changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.
